The Marilyn concept was studied and worked on by several working groups, from the CEA to professional degree students from the Sénart University Institutions. It is, indeed, its innovative and environmentally friendly nature that inspires a marked interest among specialists and the general public. However, Marilyn is above all a centre that is dedicated to businesses requiring a 100% availability guarantee and the possibility of opting for high-density solutions for servers which are increasingly energy-intensive.
StarDC, a result of the nu@ge project, is supported by the Fund for the Digital Society (FSN)
StarDC results from the nu@ge research project. This project was selected by the French government for Future Investments, in the Cloud Computing field. Consequently, the research project was supported by the Fund for the Digital Society.

Code of Conduct Certification for datacentres
With a target PUE of 1.3 and a series of innovative technological choices that engender a significant reduction in electricity consumption on sites, Marilyn is in the process of receiving certification from the European Commission.
